Lucknow, May 30 -- Till June 1, light to moderate rainfall is likely in the state capital, with isolated incidents of hailstorms, thunderstorms, and gusty winds. The speed of wind may reach 30-50 km/h, meteorological department officials forecast. The Met department has issued a weather alert for several districts across Uttar Pradesh, with a forecast of hailstorms, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, and strong gusty winds over the next three to four days. There is also a high possibility of thunder and lightning in a large number of districts including state capital Lucknow. Prayagraj, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Kanpur, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Aligarh, among others. Meanwhile, a round of gusty winds with speeds of 40-50 km/h is also anticipated across eastern and central Uttar Pradesh. Residents are advised to stay indoors during stormy weather, avoid open areas, and secure loose objects that could be blown away by strong winds.
