LUCKNOW, Nov. 27 -- A 26-year-old man was arrested late Tuesday night after he fired a shot in the air outside the DLF MY PAD complex in Vibhuti Khand, triggering panic among residents and visitors.
The incident occurred when the accused, Aviral Singh, a native of Naka Vikaspuram in Ayodhya, allegedly opened fire after he was denied a room at the DLF My Pad facility. Police said a patrol team from Vibhutikhand police station was nearby when they received information about gunfire at the high-rise.
"The team rushed to the spot and found a man sitting inside a car near the B-1 tower. On seeing police, he attempted to flee but was overpowered after a brief chase," said Amar Singh, SHO, Vibhuti Khand.
Officers recovered an illegal .32 bore revolver, four live 12-bore cartridges, and two empty .32 bore cartridges used in the firing incident. The revolver bore the marking S.A.F. Kanpur, and the accused could not produce any licence for the weapon. A case under Section 3/25 of the Arms Act has been registered. Aviral admitted that he carried the firearm "to assert dominance over people" and would fire in the air whenever he felt the need to show authority.htc...
