Lko Hosps see record patient rush after holidays
LUCKNOW, Aug. 19 -- After a three-day holiday, hospitals in the city, including King George's Medical University (KGMU) and Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS), witnessed an unprecedented patient rush on Monday.
KGMU reported 9,464 patients in its Outpatient Department (OPD), while RMLIMS saw 4,211-both far higher than usual.
Long queues, delays in registration, and a half-hour server crash at KGMU added to the rush.
According to KGMU spokesperson Prof KK Singh, a record 9,464 patients were seen in the OPD, and many were admitted for further treatment.
To manage the load, some departments at KGMU extended OPD hours till 5 pm.
At RMLIMS too, doctors worked extra hours to ensure all patients received care despite wait times for consultations and tests.
RMLIMS spokesperson Dr Bhuvan Chandra Tiwari, stated that all patients were attended to, and doctors worked extended hours to ensure that everyone received the necessary care and treatment....
