LUCKNOW, Sept. 19 -- Four doctors at a reputed medical university here have alleged that a colleague, along with his wife and an associate, duped them of Rs 30 lakh through a fraudulent investment scheme promising high returns. Following their complaint to the deputy commissioner of police (West), a case has been registered at Chowk police station. The doctors who filed the complaint are Dr Mohammad Aamir Hussain, Dr Ashutosh Singh, Dr Mohammad Firoz Khan, and Dr Ashish Kumar, all of whom serve in different departments of the institute. They accused Dr Ajay Kumar Verma, his wife, Dr Sakshi Verma, and an associate, Gaurav Singh, who claims to be the owner of 'Green by Veda, of orchestrating the scam. According to the complaint, Dr Aamir Hussain was first introduced to the scheme by Dr Sakshi Verma, who then introduced him to her husband, Dr Ajay Verma. The couple allegedly presented documents, profit records, and success stories of other investors, promising high returns. Dr Aamir invested Rs 7 lakh, including Rs 2.5 lakh via credit card and Rs 4.5 lakh into Dr Ajay Verma's personal account. He was later taken to a hotel and pressured into signing certain documents. Other doctors were also defrauded: Dr Ashutosh Singh, Rs 6.6 lakh; Dr Mohammad Firoz Khan, Rs 7 lakh; and Dr Ashish Kumar, Rs 3 lakh. The doctors alleged that they were required to earn profits only by referring new investors, and those who refused were threatened with false lawsuits and career sabotage. Dr Firoz Khan claimed that credit cards and loans were issued in his name without consent. Photocopies of his family's Aadhaar and PAN cards were allegedly taken under the pretext of making him a nominee, but were later misused. Following the complaint, Dr Ajay Verma reportedly filed a counter-complaint against Dr Aamir at the Amethi Cyber Cell, resulting in Dr Aamir's bank account being frozen and creating financial difficulties. The victim doctors said that Green by Veda is a fraudulent company that is targeting young people working in medical institutions and ruining their financial and mental well-being....
