Lko admin to seek academia's help to end child beggary
LUCKNOW, May 20 -- The district administration here said it would reach out to the University of Lucknow (LU) and its affiliated colleges, as well as secondary level schools, asking them to join its movement to eradicate beggary, particularly child beggary, from the state capital. The officials said they had prepared a blueprint for the task and would help rescued kids enrol in government schools.
This development comes days after the district administration lodging a first-of-its-kind FIR and asking the Integrated Traffic Management System officials to provide CCTV footages of those who are engaged in dropping "parachute beggars" at city intersections. District magistrate Vishak G said: "The administration will seek support of sectoral experts to figure out scientific ways of how this organised form of child beggary can be eradicated...
