LUCKNOW, July 27 -- Not much rain is expected in east UP for the next two days, but heavy rain is likely in west UP -- in Bundelkhand on Sunday and up to northwest UP a day after. There is a possibility of heavy rain in isolated areas, meteorological department officials said on Saturday. On Saturday, the state capital Lucknow woke up to a bright and sunny day. However, it turned generally cloudy with pleasant wind towards the evening. The maximum and minimum temperatures in the city were recorded at 34.9 degree Celsius and 25.6 degree Celsius, respectively. The forecast for Lucknow is partly cloudy sky with possibility of light rain/drizzle, while the day and night temperatures are likely to hover around 34 degree Celsius and 27 degree Celsius, respectively, the weatherman said. As for the state, rain/thundershower is likely at few places over west UP and at isolated places over east UP. There is a warning for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong surface wind (25-35kmph) likely at isolated places. Heavy rain is likely at isolated places over the state.
