Lucknow, July 20 -- It will be a damp and wet weekend with continuous rain activity, the Met office has predicted. Isolated places in the state will also experience thunderstorms, it said. In the context of Lucknow, light rain activity will begin from Sunday night which will continue for next two or three days. Senior scientist at the Meteorological department in Lucknow, Mohammad Danish, said that due to Western Disturbances coming from Uttarakhand region there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Moradabad and Bijnor and surrounding areas. "Due to these disturbances, the north western parts of UP can receive heavy rainfall on Sunday, while it is predicted that these districts will receive very heavy rainfall on Monday," said Danish. "Apart from the Western Disturbances, the low pressure area being created above the Bay of Bengal region will contribute to monsoon activity throughout the state from July 23 onwards," he added....
