Left parties oppose ongoing Israel action against Palestine
LUCKNOW, June 18 -- Several left-wing parties protested Israel's military actions against Palestine here on Tuesday. They submitted a memorandum, addressed to the President, to the district magistrate condemning Israel's actions, a note to the media read.
The memorandum also expressed disappointment with India's stance on the issue, noting that India had abandoned its historical policy of non-alignment and was instead acting as a junior partner to the United States.
The protest was led by CPI district secretary Parmanand, CPI(M) district secretary Madhu Garg, and CPI(ML) leader Magan. Other prominent participants included Dr Balmukund, Praveen Singh, Suman Singh, Dr VK Singh, Mohammad Khalid, Kanti Mishra, Maya Devi, Kaimunnisa and Rajiv.
The note added that over 54,000 Palestinians had been killed in the last 20 months of the war....
