LUCKNOW, Sept. 19 -- The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) will soon launch a housing project in Para, bringing 2,496 affordable flats for lower and middle income groups. The township will offer 1 and 2BHK units, with prices starting at Rs 9.5 lakh, going up to Rs 20.39 lakh. The scheme would be launched around the upcoming festival season once the documentation is complete. The project, initially named Prasun Vihar, has now been renamed Atal Bihari Vajpayee scheme. The allotment of flats will be done through a lottery system, which will open in coming days, said LDA vice-chairman Prathamesh Kumar on Thursday. Kumar added that the township has been designed to ensure affordability without compromising on quality. "The project offers enhanced categories of housing so that even people from lower income backgrounds can own a home," he added. Meanwhile, LDA has decided to name the upcoming 72 EWS flats in the Dalibagh area after Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The flats are expected to be opened for the public by the upcoming Diwali. LDA additional secretary Gyanendra Verma said the authority has the right to change the name of the scheme till the time the scheme does not get launched. htc...
