LDA plans eco-friendly apartments, says demand survey underway
LUCKNOW, July 26 -- Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) will soon construct eco-friendly multi-storey apartment buildings in Gomti Nagar, Gomti Nagar Extension, Aishbagh and Basantkunj located in the state capital, officials said. These upcoming housing projects will feature increased green cover, better cross-ventilation, and a design that reduces dependence on air conditioners, they added.LDA is also aiming to keep the pricing of these flats lower than those offered by private developers in nearby areas.Divisional commissioner Roshan Jacob reviewed the proposed schemes in a meeting held at Parijat Auditorium on Friday and directed officials to ensure that the flats are affordable and designed as per modern needs. She also instructed the team to incorporate more green areas within the housing complexes and include amenities such as gymnasiums, yoga centres, clubhouses, swimming pools, play areas for children, parking, lifts, and water conservation systems.
During the meeting, LDA vice chairman Prathamesh Kumar said the authority has proposed apartment construction at four prime locations in Viraj Khand of Gomti Nagar, Sector-4 of Gomti Nagar Extension, on Mill Road in Aishbagh, and in front of Rashtra Prerna Sthal in Sector-J of Basantkunj. An online demand survey for all four locations is currently live and will continue till July 31.Kumar added that these locations have been selected because of their excellent road connectivity, access to public transport, and proximity to educational and healthcare facilities. Jacob also reviewed the site plans of Varun Vihar on Agra Expressway and Naimish Nagar on Sitapur Road during the meeting.
She suggested that both these schemes have strong connectivity and should be developed in a way that promotes logistics, industrial and commercial activity alongside housing, so that people can find both residential and employment options in the same location....
