Land pooling begins for IT City
LUCKNOW, May 11 -- Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) on Saturday took up the land acquisition and site development for the proposed 1,696-acre IT City, which is planned between Sultanpur Road and Kisan Path, an official release said. The authority's first site office would come up in Mohari Khurd village, it said.
One of the largest upcoming urban schemes in the city, IT City will include around 4,000 residential plots of sizes 72 square metre to 1,250 sqm. About 1,800 plots will be of 200 sqm area. Officials said the project is being designed to attract major private investment and create large-scale employment for locals.
"IT City will not only be a housing scheme but also a job generator and an investment magnet," said LDA vice chairman Prathamesh Kumar. "We are reserving 350 acres for industrial use and 60 acres for commercial activity."
Joint secretary Sushil Pratap Singh said 23 landowners from four villages had already proposed to give up around 265 bighas of land free of cost under the land pooling system. "On Saturday, we took the possession of 46 bighas of land in Mohari Khurd, and the construction of the site office has also begun," he said.
For IT City, land would be pooled from Bakkas, Sonai Kanjehra, Sikandarpur Amoliya, Siddhpura, Parehta, Pahadnagar Tikaria, Rakibabad, Mohari Khurd, Khujauli, and Bhatwara, the officials said....
