Land acquisition speeds up; Rs.65 cr paid to farmers in Soraon tehsil
PRAYAGRAJ, May 1 -- The process for setting up the industrial corridor along the Ganga Expressway in Prayagraj has been expedited with Rs 65 crore paid as compensation for the acquisition of 18.86 hectares of land from farmers, according to the district officials. The project requires a total of 101.5 hectares across four villages in Soraon tehsil.
Confirming the development, district magistrate of Prayagraj, Ravindra Kumar Mandar, said that the work on the industrial corridor is progressing rapidly. Instructions have been issued to the departments concerned for land acquisition, and coordination will be ensured wherever issues arise, he added.
So far, the state government has allocated Rs 166 crore for land acquisition.
The process for acquiring the remaining land has also been accelerated, officials said.
The state government is developing an industrial corridor parallel to the Ganga Expressway, which stretches from Meerut to Prayagraj, to boost industrial development. The corridor will include pharma and textile parks, large industrial zones at both ends of the expressway, and developed plots for industries near Meerut. It is intended to attract investment and promote regional industrial growth.
For this, 101.4998 hectares of land is required in the Soraon tehsil villages of Bari, Madhopur Mala Kachkari, Judhapur Dandu, and Sarai Lal Khatoon (also known as Holagarh). Of this, 94.9497 hectares is private land and 6.5501 hectares is government-owned....
