Lucknow, July 29 -- An FIR has been registered at Gautampalli police station following a formal complaint by Adrian Michael, the bursar of La Martiniere College, alleging that he has been the target of anonymous defamatory letters repeatedly that have caused him severe mental, emotional, and professional distress. Michael stated that over the past few months, numerous anonymous letters containing false, misleading, and defamatory content have been sent to senior administrative and judicial officials, including the district magistrate, divisional commissioner, and even members of the college staff. "The harassment has escalated to such an extent that I have been pushed towards thoughts of suicide," Michael wrote in his complaint dated July 27. According to Michael, the letters are being posted repeatedly from GPO Counter No 8. Michael has requested the following from the police: A thorough investigation into the origin and content of the anonymous letters. Legal action against the individual(s) responsible under relevant sections of the IPC and IT Act. ACP, Hazratganj, Vikas Jaiswal, said that an FIR under BNS sections 351 (2) (criminal intimidation by anonymous communication), and 356 (defamation) had been lodged against unidentified persons....
