KV teachers voice concern over pay scales, transfer policies
PRAYAGRAJ, July 20 -- A two-day meeting of the central executive committee of All-India Kendriya Vidyalaya Teachers' Association commenced at IIIT-Jhalwa on Saturday.
Teachers' representatives from across the country voiced their concerns on key issues, including the implementation of the Modified Assured Career Progression (MACP) scheme or the benefit of selection-grade pay, reinstatement of the previous transfer policy, resolution of pay anomalies, recruitment of data entry operators and multitasking staff, access to CGHS and medical facilities, and reintroduction of admission quotas.
The programme was inaugurated by Anupam Agrawal, dean of alumni affairs at IIIT; BN Pandey, principal of the host school; former national president AK Tiwari, current national president BL Tripathi, and national general secretary KP Singh.
The chief guest was Sumit Srivastava, joint commissioner (personnel) of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, who addressed the gathering virtually. He assured the teachers that the organisation is committed to resolving their issues.
Special guest Anupam Agrawal emphasised that the concerns of teachers, who dedicate themselves to students' welfare, must not be overlooked.
National treasurer Pushpendra Kumar presented the financial report.
Rupesh Kumar Singh, president of the Varanasi region, raised the issue of teachers not receiving seniority-related and selection-grade financial benefits.
He also advocated for increasing child care leave for female employees from 30 to 50 days....
