LUCKNOW, Sept. 4 -- A day after causing a major upset in the boys under-16 singles on Tuesday, local challenger Kinjalk Srivastava caused yet another major upset, but this time in the under-14 singles of the AITA Championship Series here on Wednesday. Srivastava defeated fourth seeded Naresh Prabhu of Tamil Nadu 9-3 to make it to the semi-finals. Top seeded Atharv Anand of Bihar defeated Vihaan Srivastava 9-1 in another quarterfinal of the day. Saatvik Gupta defeated Tejas Singh 9-4, whereas haris Khan beat Dhruv Singh 9-8 (2) in the other two quarterfinals. The second upset of the day came in the boys under-16 category when fifth seed Samapth Prabu of Tamil Nadu defeated fourth seed Virat Singh 9-4. In the other quarterfinals, Kaustubh Singh beat Vihaan Srivastava 9-0, Arjun Sharma beat Aariz 9-5 and Atharv Anand of Bihar beat Kinjalk Srivastava 9-5.
