Bharatpur, Nov. 8 -- The leader of the interstate Bulti gang, involved in multiple cases of vehicle loot, abduction, murder, theft, and illegal arms trade, has been arrested following an encounter in Deeg district on Friday, police said. The accused, identified as Jahid alias Bulti (40), sustained bullet injuries in both legs during the encounter and was referred to Bharatpur District Hospital for treatment. A repeat offender, Jahid had formed the Bulti Gang, which has been active in Rajasthan and Haryana, engaging in vehicle thefts, armed robberies, and violent attacks, police said, adding that over 30 criminal cases are registered against him across more than eight police stations in both states. The superintendent of police, Deeg, had announced a reward of Rs.10,000 for his arrest. A resident of Gadhi Mewat village under the Khoh police station area, Jahid's gang was notorious for spreading terror through organized criminal activity in border regions. According to station house officer Mahendra Sharma (Khoh police station), the police received a tip-off about Jahid's presence in the forest area near Hayatpur village. A team conducted a raid early Friday morning. Upon spotting the police, Jahid opened fire. The police retaliated, before overpowering and arresting him.
