VARANASI, Sept. 19 -- The family members of sub-inspector Mithilesh Prajapati, who was allegedly beaten by a group of lawyers on the court premises, here, on Tuesday, staged a demonstration in front of the office of the commissioner of police, on Thursday, demanding strict action against those who beat up the SI. The SI's family members, including his elder brother, and his wife staged a sit-in in front of the CP's office. His brother said, "He (mithilesh) was beaten so badly that he fell unconscious.... Despite that it is being said that action is being taken. This is not a satisfactory answer. I want to know what action is being taken." The SI's wife, Anita, said that she wanted justice. Why have the accused not been arrested so far," she added. Commissioner of police, Mohit Agarwal apprised the wife of the SI about the action that has been taken in the matter so far. Agarwal said, "Our sub-inspector was injured seriously in the unfortunate incident that took place on Tuesday. His wife came to meet me today. She was apprised about the action being taken in this matter. She was told that an FIR has been registered against 10 persons by name. A team of officers of Varuna Zone is examining the CCTV footage to identify such elements who were involved. After their identification, they (the accused) will be arrested."
