Kidnapping suspect with Rs 50,000 reward nabbed by STF
Prayagraj, May 27 -- The Special Task Force (STF) arrested Shivbabu Maurya, wanted for kidnapping a 13-year-old boy for ransom, near the Saini bus stand in Kaushambi district on Monday. A reward of Rs 50,000 had been announced for his capture.
Shivbabu, a resident of Piparkundi village in the Karari police station area, was trying to flee Kaushambi to avoid arrest. The STF, led by sub inspector Ranendra Kumar Singh, surrounded the area before arresting him.
The boy, Pratik alias Hrithik, son of Bharat Lal Vishwakarma from Paharpur Kodan, was kidnapped on the night of April 5 .
The kidnappers left a note demanding Rs 25 lakh from his father.The police rescued the boy within 12 hours near Khwaja Kadak Shah Dargah on April 6. Three suspects, Subhash Chandra Vishwakarma, Guddu Yadav, and Amit Yadav were arrested during the encounter.
Another accused, Arvind Yadav, was caught the next day. The police seized two country-made pistols and an SUV used in the kidnapping.
All accused have been sent to jail. The hunt for Shivbabu ended with his arrest near Saini bus stand. The police continue their investigation....
