Kidnapper posing as crime branch officer nabbed
LUCKNOW, Oct. 8 -- The Aliganj police have arrested a wanted accused involved in a kidnapping and loot case in which a 19-year-old was allegedly beaten and held for ransom. The suspect reportedly impersonated a crime branch officer during the crime. The vehicle used in the incident was also recovered, police said on Tuesday.
Shabbo Khatoon, wife of Mohammad Irshad and resident of Momin Nagar, filed a complaint on Tuesday, reporting that her son Ashfaq was abducted from his vehicle by men claiming to be from the Crime Branch, according to the press note. The kidnappers allegedly beat Ashfaq, demanded ransom, and forcibly took money while threatening his life and property. However, he managed to flee from the kidnappers.
Following the complaint, an FIR was registered against three accused, including the vehicle driver, identified as Salman, Ayan, and another whose name is not known, under sections 191(2), 115(2), 351(2), 140(2), and 309(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Aliganj police said a team tracked the suspects after receiving a tip that the driver involved in the October 4 incident was near Sector-B Power House with the vehicle. When police reached the spot, the accused attempted to flee but was intercepted. He identified himself as Deenendra Kumar Singh alias Siddharth Singh, 24, of Rahimnagar Dudouli, near Brahma Baba Temple, Keshavnagar, Madiaon police limits....
