Khurja power project 2nd unit commissioned virtually
Lucknow, Sept. 23 -- The second unit (660 MW) of the 1320 MW Khurja Super Thermal Power Project was officially commissioned on Monday, marking a significant milestone in Uttar Pradesh's energy sector.
The inauguration was held virtually and presided over by Union power minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Uttar Pradesh energy minister AK Sharma.
With 65% of the project's electricity allocated to the state, the Khurja plant is expected to provide reliable power to households and industries alike, bolstering both domestic consumption and industrial growth.
Speaking on the occasion, Sharma said, "The commissioning of this unit is a major step towards making Uttar Pradesh energy self-sufficient. Under the leadership of the Prime Minister and the chief minister, the vision of 24-hour uninterrupted electricity is becoming a reality. This project will benefit millions of consumers and accelerate industrial investment across the state."
