Lakhimpur Kheri, Dec. 14 -- Taking serious cognisance of the sub-standard construction of the road from the head-post office to Nasiruddin Mauji Bhawan in the city, on Saturday, Kheri DM Durga Shakti Nagpal has issued instructions to the municipal council officials not to release payments to contractors till the quality of the under-construction road was maintained to prescribed norms. She also ordered withholding the salary of the executive officer (EO) of Lakhimpur Municipal Council. Nagpal along with SDM Ashwini Kumar Singh and executive engineer, PWD, Tarunendra Tripathi, carried out a surprise inspection of the under construction 226-meter long city road along the Nasiruddin Mauji Bhawan. She was shocked to find that the gravel and ballasts were coming loose at several spots on the newly-constructed road.
