Lucknow, June 3 -- King George Medical University (KGMU) has equipped its Trauma Centre with a real-time app-based dashboard that displays the availability of ICU ventilator beds. This initiative was inaugurated by deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak in the presence of vice-chancellor Prof Sonia Nityanand on Monday, stated a note issued by the institution. "The dashboard will display the availability of ICU ventilator beds in real-time. It will be displayed in public areas. Information will be automatically updated as soon as a patient is discharged. This system will break the common perception that VIP's are given priority for ventilator beds," the note added. The deputy CM emphasised the need to make healthcare services more transparent and effective. He provided necessary directions to achieve this goal. On the occasion, Dr Somil Jaiswal (additional chief medical superintendent, Trauma Center), Dr Sameer Mishra (the in-charge of School of Skill), Dr Dheerendra Patel and Dr Sameer Kumar (casualty medical officers) were also present. Certificates were distributed to the students who completed the 'SAVDHAN' Disaster Management Course. Also, a pneumatic tube system was inaugurated.
