KGMU physiotherapy students to receive specialised training
LUCKNOW, Sept. 9 -- Physiotherapy students at King George's Medical University (KGMU) will undergo specialised training in the respiratory medicine department, focusing on pulmonary rehabilitation. The two-week programme aims to equip students with skills to strengthen their lungs and enhance respiratory health, a release on Monday, read.
Prof Soniya Nityanand, KGMU vice-chancellor, said the training will teach students the intricacies of lung physiotherapy and methods to improve lung function. The respiratory medicine department provides free services to patients with breathing difficulties. Over 2,000 patients have already benefited from its services, designed to reduce breathlessness and support daily activities.
Dean of paramedical sciences, Dr KK Singh, said that official orders for the two-week training programme will be issued soon. Dr Ankit Kumar, co-incharge of the pulmonary rehabilitation centre, added that the programme will focus on exercises to increase lung capacity.
Experts, including Dr Ajay Kumar Verma from RMLIMS, discussed the importance of pulmonary rehabilitation, while senior dietician Dr Poonam Tiwari shared insights on nutrition's role in maintaining respiratory and overall health....
