LUCKNOW, Dec. 15 -- King George's Medical University's (KGMU) gastroenterology department said it will double the number of its beds in the new year. Dr Sumit Rungta, the department head, said from the new year the department will have 40 beds, along with three to five ICU ventilator beds. At present, the KGMU department operates 20 beds, most of which are always occupied. Meanwhile, KGMU spokesperson Dr KK Singh said the gastroenterology department was also being expanded.
