KGMU College of Nursing marks Foundation Day
LUCKNOW, Aug. 21 -- The College of Nursing at King George's Medical University (KGMU) celebrated its first Foundation Day on Wednesday at Brown Hall. The programme began with a floral welcome and lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by addresses from dignitaries.
Principal Dr Rashmi P. John highlighted the college's growth and achievements since its establishment.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Soniya Nityanand stressed the importance of quality nursing education, lauded faculty contributions, and encouraged international collaboration and community outreach.
Dean, Faculty of Nursing, Dr Punita Manik, traced the college's journey since 2015, noting milestones such as its recognition as a mentor institute under Mission Niramaya and securing an 'A' grade in QCI standards in 2023. Dean of Academics Prof Virendra Atam underlined the college's role in advancing nursing education.
Guest speaker Prof Judith Angelitta Noronha of Manipal University delivered a lecture on the challenges of nursing education, while former dean Prof Madhumati Goel shared her experiences....
