Key accused still on the run; Rs 25K reward announced
Agra, Oct. 5 -- In the murder case of businessman Abhishek Gupta, Aligarh police have announced a reward of Rs 25,000 for information leading to the capture of key accused Puja Shakun Pandey.
Her husband and co-accused Ashok Pandey, who's a spokesperson of Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha (ABHM), was arrested last Sunday. Both shooters in the case have also been arrested. Gupta, who owned a two-wheeler showroom, was gunned down here while getting on a bus for the nearby Sikandrarau town of Hathras district on September 26.Puja Shakun, who's the national secretary of ABHM and also a 'mahamandaleshwar', and Ashok were named in the case registered on the complaint of Gupta's father.
Gupta's father had alleged that strained relations between his son and the accused couple as the reason behind the murder.
Superintendent of police (City) Mrigank Shekhar Pathak said police have arrested both the shooters 'hired' by the accused. "We arrested Mohd Fazal, one of the two shooters, earlier this week. Asif, the main shooter, was arrested on Friday. He carried a reward of Rs 25,000 and was wanted in case registered under section 103(1)/61(2)/ 351(3) of the BNS and Sections 3/25/27 of the Arms Act at Roravar police station of Aligarh after murder of trader," stated Pathak.
Call detail records showed that Ashok Pandey had spoken to Fazal 27 times in August and September.
According to police, both shooters agreed to carry out the murder for Rs 3 lakh."We are closing in on absconding accused Puja Shakun Pandey, who shall be arrested soon," stated Pathak. htc...
