Kerala overall champ in schools athletics meet
Lucknow, Dec. 18 -- The 69th National School Athletics Championship 2025 for under-17 category for boys and girls culminated here at Guru Gobind Singh stadium on Wednesday. Kerala turned out to be the overall winner with 52 cumulative points on the table while Tamil Nadu bagged most medals - 7 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze medals followed by Haryana with 6 gold and 2 silver and one bronze medals respectively. Maharashtra clinched the third highest number of medals - 4 gold and 4 bronze medals and 6 silver medals.
Tamil Nadu won the Boys' Team Championship with 33 points while Haryana won the Girls' Team Championship with 34 points. In the individual category (boys), Neel Samraj T (Tamil Nadu), Mohammad Sameer Khan (Uttar Pradesh), and Arijit Pal (West Bengal) became champions. In the individual category (girls), Anshu (CBSE) turned out to be the champion.
Arjuna Awardee Lalit Upadhyay and additional director of education (vocational education) Manoj Dwivedi were present during the felicitation ceremony while joint director of education, Lucknow Division Pradeep Kumar, and deputy director of education, Lucknow Division Rekha Diwakar were also present. Kumar said the UP government has announced the CM School Sports Award, under which National School Games individual gold medalists were awarded Rs 75000, while Rs 50000 and Rs 30000 was given out to silver and bronze medalists respectively. htc...
