Kaushambi BSA accused of bungling, probe ordered
PRAYAGRAJ, May 31 -- A complaint has been made to the chief minister, principal secretary and director-general, school education, accusing the Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA), Kaushambi, of embezzling around Rs 89 lakh in purchases made under various heads.
Taking cognizance of the complaint submitted by one Dharmendra Kumar of Chail block in Kaushambi district, director-general, school education, Kanchan Verma, has directed the DM, Kaushambi, to investigate and submit its report.
Dharmendra Kumar alleged that irregularities had been made in purchases worth more than Rs 89 lakh in the year 2023-24.
This includes purchase of ACs, computers, laptops, batteries, printing material etc. The complaint made with the affidavit has been taken seriously by the chief minister's office.
Kumar alleged that eight air conditioners were purchased while only six had been installed in the BSA office. He alleged that the purchases were made despite all air conditioners in the office remaining functional.
He further alleged in the complaint that payment of the same was made without the permission of the DM, Kaushambi. The payment was made in installments, so that there was no need for tenders. Kumar also alleged that UPS was purchased in the year 2023-24 at a price higher than the market price. Here too, no permission had been taken from the DM for payment.
DM, Kausambi, Madhusudan Hulgi, said that the complaint of irregularities in purchases was being investigated.
The investigation report will be sent to the government soon. If any irregularities are found, action will be taken, he added....
