LUCKNOW, May 11 -- The ongoing desilting of Kathauta Lake, which is crucial for water supply to thousands in Chinhat and Gomti Nagar, was on hold as per the official planning, according to Jal Kal officials. The work was expected to resume after the desilting of the Sharada Canal was completed on May 17 or 18. Currently, the lake holds about 12 feet of water, which officials from the Jal Kal department said was enough to sustain the supply for 20 days.
