Kashi Dwar scheme: Vns administration speeds up land acquisition
VARANASI, Feb. 19 -- Accelerating the process to acquire 1,000 acres of land for the Kashi Dwar scheme, the Varanasi district administration has acquired 20 acres of land in the last few days.
"Twenty acres of land have been acquired in the last few days and Rs 70 crore have been paid to the farmers as compensation," said district magistrate Satyendra Kumar.
He said that the acquisition process has been accelerated further in order that 1000 acres of land could be acquired soon.
Asked what will happen to the villages within the ambit of the land identified for the acquisition, the DM said that people need not worry because the villages and houses will remain as they are.
He said that the township to come up under the scheme will be equipped with all facilities, including markets, commercial complexes, residential facilities, schools. And when the township is developed, these villages will be within it and amenities will be developed there, added the DM.
The Kashi Dwar Yojana is an ambitious project that according to officials will help the expansion of Varanasi. This will also open new doors of employment for the locals....
