Karwaan ends amidst music, dance and poetry
LUCKNOW, Jan. 25 -- Poet Waseem Barelvi enthralled the audience with his word-wizardry at Sant Gadge Ji Maharaj Auditorium of UP Sangeet Natak Akademi on Saturday, as part of Cultural Karwaan organised by the 'Jashn-e-Adab' Sahityaotsav.
He entered reciting his famous couplet - "Tum apne baare mein kuch der sochna chhodo, toh main bataun ki tum kis qadar akele ho" which drew rapturous applause.
A Mushaira began with Kunwar Ranjit Chauhan followed by Azm Shakiri, Javed Mushiri, Jamuna Prasad Upadhyay, Anas Faizi, and Ranjan Nigam.
'Alha singing' by Chhotelal Pal, was enthusiastically received by the audience, which was followed by a performance by Shinjini Kulkarni, granddaughter of Kathak maestro Pt Birju Maharaj.
Comedian Rehman Khan left the audience in stitches with funny anecdotes and satire centered around 'Chai ki Tapri.' Later, classical music exponents Sajan Mishra and Swaransh Mishra performed....
