K'taka top poll officer serves notice on Rahul
Bengaluru, Aug. 11 -- The Karnataka chief electoral officer (CEO) on Sunday issued a formal notice to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, asking him to share documentary evidence based on which he had alleged at a press conference that a woman voted twice during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
"You are kindly requested to provide the relevant documents on the basis of which you have concluded that Shakun Rani or anyone else has voted twice, so that a detailed inquiry can be undertaken by this office," the notice by Karnataka CEO V Anbukumar said, addressing Gandhi's claim that the 70-year-old woman voted twice during the recent general elections.
Separately, the CEOs of Haryana and Maharashtra also wrote to the leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, asking him to file an affidavit over his "electoral fraud" allegations so that they can start necessary proceedings as per the law. P8...
