Agra, Sept. 27 -- RN Parbat, member (North Zone), Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), New Delhi, outlined the income tax (IT) department's priorities and called on officers to transform the work culture to meet upcoming challenges. Emphasising that the swift and effective resolution of taxpayers' grievances remains the department's top priority, he addressed the inaugural session of the two-day North Zonal Conference held in Agra on Friday. The conference, organised under the guidance of Smt. Aparna Karan, principal chief commissioner of income tax, UP (West) & Uttarakhand region, brought together officers from four North Zone charges, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The event began Thursday with a ceremonial lamp lighting and invocation of Goddess Saraswati by the income tax department's cultural troupe, followed by RN Parbat's inaugural address.
