Issuance of green card for vehicles begins in Garhwal
Haridwar, April 3 -- The transport department has started issuing green cards for vehicles carrying pilgrims to the Char Dham Yatra in hill districts of the Garhwal division to facilitate smooth travel during the pilgrimage season.
According to officials of the transport department, the issuance of green cards began on Thursday at the department's counters in Pauri, Kotdwar, Rudraprayag and Karanprayag.
Earlier this week, the process had started at Roshanabad in Haridwar district and Rishikesh in Dehradun district.
Assistant regional transport officer Garhwal Dwarika Prasad said special counters have been set up at these locations to issue green cards to vehicles heading for the Char Dham pilgrimage routes.
