ISKCON's Prayagraj Temple striving to revive Vedic values
PRAYAGRAJ, May 28 -- The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON)-Prayagraj is organising a five-day "Prahlad Summer Camp" for kids and teens aged between 5 and 18 years.
The camp, which started on May 26 and will run through May 30, provides various activities and courses designed to enhance the spiritual and moral values of the participants, stated Achyuta Mohan Das, the temple president.
As part of the summer camp, more than 350 children and youth, along with a gathering of 500 residents, performed a mega Harinam Sankirtan (congregational chanting) on the streets of the city in the early hours of Tuesday. Starting from Kydganj, the procession featured kids dressed in colourful clothes as Ram, Sita, Lakshman, Krishna and Radharani. Hundreds of people were seen chanting and dancing to the loud Harinam Kirtan performed by ISKCON devotees throughout the procession.
The devotees will also engage the children in various activities ranging from organising dramas based on the Ramayana and Mahabharata, teaching art and craft, sloka learning from the Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam, Ramcharitmanas, besides involving them in Gau Seva.
