Iranian breed horse stolen from Karbala Talkatora
LUCKNOW, Dec. 25 -- An Iranian breed horse was stolen from the Karbala Talkatora premises in the area in the early hours of Wednesday, triggering concern among the local community and prompting a police investigation.
The horse, revered as Shabeeh-e-Zuljanah (replica of Zuljanah) holds deep religious significance among the Shia community and is associated with Muharram observances. Zuljanah is traditionally linked to Imam Hussain and symbolises loyalty and sacrifice in Shia Islamic history.
According to a complaint lodged at the Talkatora police station by the manager of Karbala Talkatora and Khuda Baksh of the Rajajipuram area, the incident occurred at around 4:30 am on Wednesday. The lock of the Karbala gate was allegedly broken before the horse was taken away.
CCTV footage from the area shows a person leading the horse from near house number six towards the Ashiana bridge via the canal-side Karbala route. A 35-second video clip of the incident has since been widely circulated on social media.
Police officials said CCTV footage from adjoining areas is being examined to identify the accused and trace the stolen horse. "Appropriate legal action will be taken once all evidence is verified," Talkatora SHO Kuldeep Dubey said.
Zuljanah is traditionally believed to have been the horse of Imam Hussain, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad, and is remembered for its presence during the Battle of Karbala nearly 1,400 years ago....
