Invisible Titans, Flying Daggers win matches
PRAYAGRAJ, Feb. 9 -- In the Abbas-Rai Media Premier League Cricket Tournament, Invisible Titans defeated CA Prayagraj by six wickets in the first match on Sunday, whereas Flying Daggers defeated Operating Rising Star by eight wickets, earning full points in the competition.
Vipin Yadav of Invisible Titans excelled with an all-round performance (32 runs, 21 balls, six fours and 2/26, whereas Pradeep Pathak of Flying Daggers showcased exceptional bowling with 6/20. Vineet Tiwari struck a brilliant unbeaten 71 in 24 balls with the help of 11 fours and three sixes.
On Sunday, at the KP College Ground, in the first match, after winning the toss, CA Prayagraj scored 124 runs in 19.3 overs. Sanjeev Kumar (23), Ashutosh Tripathi (17) were the main run getters. For rivals, Amit Singh, Saeed Ahmed Faizan and Vipin Kumar Yadav took two wickets each.
In reply, Invisible Titans reached home in 14.5 overs, losing four wickets. Rajat Chaudhary (53) and Vipin Kumar Yadav (32) were the star performers. Sanjeev and Sunil Mishra shared three wickets between them.
In the second match, Operating Rising Star, batting first, were all out for 109 in 15.5 overs. Arpit Kesarwani (38), Chitranjan Chaubey and Mahendra Kumar (20-20 runs each) were the scorers. Pradeep Pathak excelled with 6/20, whereas Vicky and Avinish shared four wickets between them. In reply, Flying Daggers scored 110/2 in just nine overs. Vineet Tiwari top scored with 71.
Meanwhile, Rajiv Ranjan Agarwal, president of Rotary Allahabad, announced that the social body will take responsibility for the education of the son of the late journalist Devendra Rai up to the intermediate level. The son is currently in class 6.
He also said that the check would be handed over to his wife on the day of the tournament final....
