PRAYAGRAJ, Oct. 9 -- An investigation has begun into a fake order letter sent to the Cantonment Board in the name of President Droupadi Murmu. Following a complaint from Cantonment Board officials, the Cantonment police station is investigating the case. Police said that the sender of the forged letter would be arrested soon. The assistance of Pratapgarh and Patna Police is also being sought to verify the applicant's name and address. As per reports, a letter arrived at the Cantonment Board office via speed post on Monday. When clerk Ashwini Kumar opened the envelope, it revealed an order letter from President Draupadi Murmu. It stated, "The applicant, Raju Kumar Patel, son of Babulal, resident of village Hanumanpur, Post Dakhvapur, District Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, India-230143, is a graduate and diploma holder." The letter further stated that the applicant should be sent an appointment letter appointing him on the post of Field Marshal. The letter also bore a fake seal and a forged signature of the President of India. A preliminary investigation by the Cantonment police revealed that the speed post was sent from Danapur, Bihar.
