Invest UP explores new avenues of cooperation with Japan
Lucknow, Aug. 1 -- The Invest UP on Thursday held a high-level meeting at the India Club in Kobe, Japan bringing together prominent stakeholders and industry associations from both countries to explore new avenues of cooperation between the two countries.
Senior officials from the Osaka Prefectural Government, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) Kansai, Japan; External Trade Organization (JETRO) Kobe, Indian Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), Nippon Indo Cultural and economic centre (NICE), Indian Chamber of Commerce Japan (ICCJ), and Indian Consul General in Osaka, Chandru Apar were present at the meeting.
It was decided in the meeting that regular exchanges between Invest UP and Japanese stakeholders will take place to strengthen economic cooperation and unlock fresh investment opportunities.
In addition to this, the Invest UP officials held a strategic meeting in Osaka with representatives of MORABU HANSHIN Industry Co., Ltd., a Japanese firm actively recruiting IIT students for roles in Japan's growing IT sector.
The company expressed its intention to expand recruitment across the state's top-tier technical institutions.
The company is also evaluating the possibility of establishing Global Capability Centres (GCCs) in the state. Alongside investment dialogues, the Uttar Pradesh Pavilion at the World Expo continues to be a centre of global attention.
Drawing visitors from across the world, the pavilion showcases the state's flagship One District One Product (ODOP) initiative under the banner 'Crafted in Uttar Pradesh, Admired by the World!'
