Haldwani, June 21 -- US Nagar district magistrate Nitin Singh Bhaduria has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the Bazpur mushroom factory incident on Friday. A 15-year-old girl died and 12 others were injured after a heavy rack collapsed at a mushroom factory in the Bazpur area of Udham Singh Nagar district on Thursday evening, police said.
Bhaduria said, "I have ordered a magisterial inquiry into Bazpur mushroom factory incident. Sub-divisional magistrate Bazpur Amrita Sharma will head the inquiry. After she submits here report, appropriate action will be taken in the matter"
According to PS Koshiyari, in-charge of Bazpur police station, the deceased has been identified as Hina (15), daughter of Om Pal.
"The incident took place in the evening when a rack filled with sacks of organic fertilizer suddenly collapsed inside the factory, trapping several workers beneath," Koshiyari said.
"Around 24 workers, including men and women from nearby Tanda Dalchand village, were working at the time of the incident. Twelve workers were buried under the fallen rack," he said, and added that a police team and local residents quickly reached the site and began rescue operations....
