Indian Army, Allahabad University sign MoU for academic, strategic ties
PRAYAGRAJ, July 2 -- The Indian Army's Central Command and the University of Allahabad signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tuesday to promote academic and strategic collaboration, informed Wing Commander Debartho Dhar, regional PRO and spokesperson (Defence ), Prayagraj region.
The MoU was signed by Major General Rajesh Bhat, GOC, Purva UP and MP Sub Area, and professor Ashish Khare, registrar of the University. Professor Sangita Srivastava, vice-chancellor, and senior officials from both sides were present.
The agreement will support work in national security, policy research, conflict resolution, peacebuilding, disaster management, IT, and mobile network security.
It also allows serving and retired Armed Forces officers to pursue higher education. Five seats will be reserved each year for postgraduate courses (for Majors and above) and four for PhD research (for Colonels and above).
The University will host joint research projects, conferences, and publish academic work on key issues. A committee has been formed to guide the MoU's goals and long-term plans. Officials said the partnership will help strengthen national development and policy through joint expertise....
