India's growth linked to 'One Nation, One Election': BJP MP
VARANASI, Feb. 28 -- BJP Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi said that India's development goal will be achieved through One Nation, One Election. Speaking at a seminar on the topic at BHU, he said those who opposed GST, Digital India, and other government initiatives would eventually understand its importance.He stated that India's Constitution makers initially envisioned simultaneous elections, which were held from 1952 to 1967. Holding elections together, he said, ensures economic stability, better governance, and healthy political competition, preventing frequent electoral disruptions. Trivedi emphasised that a committee has been constituted to explore the idea, aligning with the vision of the Constitution's framers.Criticising past governments, he accused them of fostering caste and class divides through a divide-and-rule strategy. He added that opponents of One Nation, One Election had also resisted reforms like digital transactions, tech advancements, and GST, yet the country continues to progress towards 'Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat'....
