LUCKNOW, June 21 -- The state capital is rapidly emerging as a major hub for digital and technological advances, with Sarojini Nagar at the forefront. Lucknow is set to develop India's first Artificial Intelligence (AI) City, currently being developed over 70 acres in Sarojini Nagar. The state-of-the-art campus is designed to accommodate companies, startups, and research institutions focussed on AI, machine learning, and data analytics, said Sarojini Nagar BJP MLA Rajeshwar Singh on Friday. He described the project as a "once-imagined dream now turning into a digital reality" and stressed the need to speed up its progress, calling it a key part of Uttar Pradesh's digital ambition. To institutionalise and regulate AI development, Singh has submitted a letter to chief minister Yogi Adityanath, recommending the formation of a Uttar Pradesh Artificial Intelligence Commission. This commission would help shape the state's AI strategy, research standards, and policies. He emphasised the urgency of fast-tracking both the AI City and Aerocity, stating, "These projects are not just infrastructure, but platforms for future employment, innovation, and national relevance." Singh outlined Sarojini Nagar's transformation into a national-level hub for technology and defense, stating, "This is not just development - this is strategic positioning of Sarojini Nagar on India's scientific, technological, and security map." htc...
