LUCKNOW, May 17 -- The Uttar Pradesh government has launched Integrated Special Secondary Schools in seven districts including Auraiya, Lucknow, Kannauj, Prayagraj, Azamgarh, Ballia and Maharajganj. Additionally, a new integrated school is being developed in Ghaziabad, with ongoing construction work in Mirzapur, Etah, Pratapgarh, Varanasi, and Bulandshahr, a government spokesperson said on Friday. For many parents, enrolling children with physical or intellectual disabilities in a reputed mainstream school alongside other students was once just a distant dream. However, the UP government's resolve to promoting inclusive education-a system where children, including those with physical or mental disabilities, learn together in the same environment-aims to turn that dream into reality, according to a press release. To promote this vision, these schools will provide a common learning platform for visually impaired, hearing-impaired, orthopedically challenged, and non-disabled students. As many as 325 students are enrolled and are benefitting from this. htc...
