In-laws held, husband still at large
LUCKNOW, May 7 -- The investigation into the murder of Savita Devi, a 30-year-old woman whose body was discovered near Puranpur village in Lucknow's Mohanlalganj area, has progressed with police detaining her in-laws for questioning, while her husband, Sanjay, remains untraceable.
Savita's body was found on Monday evening, around 1.5 km from her home in Dadayin Sarathua village. The case came to light after her father, Ramnaresh, lodged a complaint at the PGI police station, following which a murder FIR was registered. According to Ramnaresh, Savita had been married to Sanjay, a resident of Dadaain Majra Mohiuddinpur under PGI police limits, since 2015. Trouble began a few months ago when she allegedly discovered her husband's extramarital affair with a local woman. "She opposed the affair, after which her husband, along with his parents and brother, began beating her regularly," said Ramnaresh in his complaint. Confirming the developments, additional DCP (South) Amit Kumawat said, "The incident came to light on Monday. Police reached the spot with the family, who identified the body as that of Savita Devi."...
