GORAKHPUR, Aug. 30 -- Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah, during his visit to Gorakhpur on Friday, urged Congress leaders and workers to dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to reviving the party in Uttar Pradesh. He stressed that consistent efforts from now were crucial to bringing the Congress back to power in the state. Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, Siddaramaiah said, "I have received such heartfelt respect in such a short time. I am thankful to the Gorakhpur Congress unit." He appealed to workers to strengthen the organisation at the grassroots and work tirelessly for the formation of a Congress government in Uttar Pradesh. Earlier, Siddaramaiah was welcomed by Congress leaders at the Gorakhpur airport, where he was greeted with flower bouquets and showered with rose petals amid chants of "Congress Zindabad." From Gorakhpur, he proceeded by road to Siwan, Bihar, to join leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi at a public rally.
