LUCKNOW, Feb. 12 -- For the first time this year the day temperature crossed the 30deg Celsius mark in many districts in the state. The maximum temperature in Banda rose to 30.6deg C on Wednesday. It was 3.4 degrees above normal. Last year too, the day temperature in this region crossed the 30deg C mark around February 11. The situation was no better at BHU Varanasi where the maximum temperature rose to 29.6deg C, which was 3.8 degrees above normal, Prayagraj 29.2deg C (3 degrees above normal), Jhansi 29.1deg C and Agra 29deg C which is 5 notches above normal. The state weather forecast is most likely dry over the state. The day and night temperatures in the state capital were 26.7 and 12.1deg C, respectively, on Wednesday. The forecast for Thursday is clear sky and mist at night. The maximum and minimum temperature will be around 26 and 12deg C, respectively. Mohd Danish, senior scientist at the Met office said, "There will be no significant change in weather except on February 17 when isolated rainfall is expected over Western UP due to Western Disturbances. There will be no change in maximum and minimum temperatures during the next three days. Thereafter, a gradual rise by 2 to 3 degree Celsius is on the cards, he said....
