Mussoorie, May 2 -- Indian Meteorological Department (IMD)Dehradun Centre has sounded a yellow alert with thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (40-50 Kmph) at isolated places. For Saturday, IMD Dehradun Centre has sounded an orange alert with a forecast of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, hail, squall and 50-60 kmph gusts going up to 70 kmph at isolated places in the state. Heavy cloud cover was seen across the Garhwal region and farmers rushed to keep their harvested crops in safe places. Yellow alert has been sounded on Sunday and Monday. Meanwhile, Suresh Semwal, secretary Gangotri Temple Committee said, "The sky over Gangotri was covered with dark clouds and it is likely that light rain could occur by late evening, and we are hopeful that the yatra will not be disrupted."...
