Sariska, May 10 -- A team led by assistant forest conservator, Akbarpur, and local forest officer of Talvriksh forest range took swift action today after detecting illegal construction activity on the roof of a structure near the Kali Mata temple, accessed via a well in Talvriksh range's Naka Devta area of Sariska. Field director of Sariska, Sangram Singh Katiyar told HT, "The area falls within the Sariska Tiger Reserve's core zone near Rampur, which is designated as a Critical Tiger Habitat under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, and is protected under the Forest Conservation Act, 1980. Due to its ecological sensitivity, no construction activity is permitted here. The forest team, numbering approximately 150-200 personnel, reached the site and dismantled the unauthorised roof structure. The perpetrators tried to engage in confrontation. During this confrontation, some individuals resisted, resulting in injuries to a government staff member. A government vehicle was also damaged in the altercation." He further said , "Following the incident, the police were informed, and an FIR has been registered at the Bansur police station against the accused parties.Authorities are continuing investigations, and strict action is expected against violators of wildlife and forest conservation laws."
