IIT Kanpur launches AI training for 750 UP science teachers
KANPUR, Sept. 9 -- The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has launched the Digital Literacy, Computational Thinking, Coding and AI Science Teacher Training Program for 750 science teachers from PM SHRI, upper primary, and composite schools across all 75 UP districts. The initiative combines five days of intensive offline training at IIT Kanpur with online follow-up sessions, ensuring continuity of learning. Through these teachers, the programme is expected to benefit nearly 75 lakh students in Classes 6-8, making it one of the largest teacher training efforts in the state. The inaugural session featured Prof Satyaki Roy, Prof J Ramkumar, and SCERT joint director Pawan Sachan.
